Royal Gunpowder Mills
Occupying a vast site in Essex, the Royal Gunpowder Mills fuses science and history, promising to 'ignite your senses' with tales of gunpowder, ammunition, rockets, transport and of course railways.
The steam locomotive The Woolwich is on loan from this popular attraction. 

Royal Arsenal Association
The Association works in co-operation with the Royal Arsenal Woolwich Historical Society to research and document the history of this unique site.  The Association also exists for the past employees of the Royal Arsenal.

This group was founded in 1974 to preserve Scotland's industrial railway heritage.  They run regular steaming days and maintain an excellent online photo gallery. 

Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway
A fully operational narrow gauge railway located in Kent, operated to a high standard with stations, engine sheds and workshops as well as steam and diesel locomotives and traction engines.  Open on the first Sunday of the month throughout summer.

Driving Creek Railway
Work on this New Zealand narrow gauge railway in New Zealand started in 1975 to supply natural clay to the owner's craft pottery.  Due to the steep terrain, a number of devices such a switchbacks, spirals, tunnels and two-storey viaducts have been used to conquer the mountain.
